Habitat & distribution: Frequent to dominant on beaches, sabkha edge and other saline habitats around the coasts. Uses: Ghazanfar states the whole plant is used against diarrhoea and as an astringent. Notes: The related species Limonium carnosum (Boiss.) Kuntze is recorded from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, UAE and doubtfully Oman (Ghazanfar 2003), and is therefore quite likely to occur in Qatar.
