Khor Al Adaid was designated as a nature reserve in 2007 under Decision No. 1, and lies 80 kilometers from Doha in Qatar’s southeastern corner. Also known as the “Inland Sea”, Khor Al Adaid is located in the southernmost part of Qatar and stretches over around 1833 square kilometers. Khor Al Adaid is known to be one of the important areas abundant with mammals. It is also has an exceptional natural environment of special importance and attraction for Qatar where it has large dunes and presents a unique mix of geological terrains and environmental factors, creating natural habitats for various flora and fauna species. This has created an exclusive ecosystem in Qatar that requires the highest level of environmental conservation.
