Habitat & distribution: A weed of disturbed and enriched habitats, including cultivated areas, sewage ponds and gardens. Uses: Batanouny noted that the fruit is edible. Mandaville states that although sometimes listed as a poisonous plant, he has seen the ripe berries being eaten.
