Description:

Growth form: Perennial grass. Flowering. Mar–May. Status: Native. Very common. Also recorded: Bahrain, E Saudi Arabia, UAE. Habitat & distribution: Frequent to abundant in saline habitats, including sabkha edge, saltmarsh and the edges of permanent wetland areas. Sometimes dominates large areas of saline flats. Uses: El Amin states this species to be good fodder.
