Growth form: Annual herb. Flowering. Mar–Apr. Status: Introduced. Rare. Not in other Gulf areas. Habitat & distribution: Recorded by Batanouny from silty depressions. Uses: ‘It is grazed by animals and the leaves are eaten by man as salad or cooked in stews’ (El Amin).
